“Creating art in therapy is not about making something beautiful, it’s about making something meaningful.”

Cathy Malchiodi

My name is Janine, and I am a qualified, HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist and a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). I offer trauma-informed art psychotherapy for children, young people, and adults who are navigating grief, loss, and emotional difficulties.

I provide a warm, compassionate, and supportive therapeutic space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I specialise in bereavement and loss, including secondary losses such as changes in health, identity, relationships, or life circumstances. Loss can be deeply personal and complex, and it often affects far more than words alone can express.

Art psychotherapy offers a gentle yet powerful way to work with grief. You do not need to be artistic to benefit. The focus is not on creating artwork for display, but on using creativity as a meaningful form of communication, reflection, and healing — particularly when emotions feel overwhelming or difficult to talk about.

Alongside bereavement support, I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, attachment difficulties, trauma, and identity concerns. My approach is collaborative and relational, placing trust, safety, and connection at the heart of the work. Whether we work one-to-one or in a group, therapy is tailored to your needs and experiences.

Together, we can gently make sense of what you are carrying, honour your losses, and find compassionate, practical ways to support emotional healing and lasting change.
